Producing Radio International as reemerging project in Warsaw during the "Neighbors: Warsaw Under Construction 10" festival, creating a 4-language dialogue out of multiple perspectives on the topic of work in migration

Since 2014, the number of Ukrainian migrants in Poland, and especially in Warsaw had drastically grown, to the point that it had partly changed the city’s identity and its soundscape. The locals develop strategies to adapt to the new situation. Having to restart one’s life after leaving one’s home that’d been shelled in the Russian-occupied Donetsk, how rapidly can one get their family on their feet in the country of arrival: Poland? A trans person about to leave their home Poland and start a new life with a loved one in France has a similar quest and transition, though slightly different worries and occupation habits. Poland-based Ukrainian human rights defender banned from access to home in the middle of political turmoil is hiding out in Kyiv in a different pursuit and legal impasse in a suspended time frame. What does Polishness mean for people in a crowded Warsaw intersection? Evidently, not the same for the lady selling flowers, youngsters waiting for their friends, and a man who’s just come out of prison after being jailed for many years. The combination of voices is as unpredictable as it is telling about the nowness of this place. Stories of struggle and of success are mingled with reactions and reflections about belonging and cohabitation. The placed, the displaced and the re-integrated speak about their reasons, challenges and plans in Ukrainian, Polish, English and Russian.
